Stevenson Rocks - Classroom Baskets

Every year Stevenson Rocks has baskets from each grade level which will be assembled and auctioned at the event. This year the basket themes for Mrs. Rotunno’s class are:

“That’s Alright With Me” – Mom stuff like…. Spa gift cards, cooking stuff, music, wine, magazines subscriptions, music gift card, cooking class…

“Cadillac Man” – Dad Stuff… Jiffy Lube gift card, air fresheners, Armor All, i-pod attachment, car blanket, first aid kit, travel cups, lottery tickets, Santa Anita Turf passes, movies/CD’s…

The items noted above are simply ideas (please, nothing from the 99¢ Store)…be creative! Maybe you have a special talent that you can offer as a gift certificate (e.g. lawn mowing, gardening, cooking dinner for family, pet or babysitting).

***If you choose to use gift cards, we encourage you to purchase them through Escrip. These can be purchased after school on Fridays. Additional ways to donate can be found online at www.stevensonpirates.net.***

All items must be turned into the office by Friday, April 16th. Please make sure you note Room 3 on your donation.

Clothes Drive
Clothes drive was cancelled due to the rain. We will have it next Friday 2/12/10 after school. We will still be accepting clothes until then.

Families for Stevenson Donation Drive
Thank you to all the families who have generously made donation to FFS to support Arts Education and other specialty programs here at Stevenson. Without your support the dance and art classes would cease to exist. So please help us make our goal to raise enough money to keep these programs alive!

Green Team News
After some unbelievable rain storms, the winter crops the kids planted are really starting to bloom! If you would like your child to bring home a taste from the Old Garden (some lettuce, snap peas, broccoli, cauliflower or beets), please send a small plastic bag to school with them and we will TRY and give them some fresh veggies. Talent Show Front Row Ticket Auction!
This year we're shaking things up and doing something a little different! The coveted front row for both our shows are now being auctioned off online. Tickets will go to the highest bidders. This makes the allocation of the front row as fair as possible, it also raises additional funds which will help to provide art programs for our children.

FFS Mixer!!

Hello Parents....

I trust everyone is staying dry with this crazy weather we're having.

I wanted to remind you that FFS (Families For Stevenson) are having a mixer at the Cartoon Network Studios on Tuesday, January 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The address is 300 North Third Street. Please email your RSVP to rsvp@stevensonpirates.net. We'll have wine, beer, soda and water along with a some tasty bites.

This event is for adults only so we encourage you to order a pizza from North End Pizzeria for the kids and your sitter as this is our "raising dough" night! Call 818-557-8325.

Stevenson’s Green Team would like to give everybody a quick heads up - The Burbank Recycling Center will be offering a workshop on "COMPOSTING" Saturday, Jan. 30th 11 am at our very own Stevenson Elementary School.
